Karl Ove Knausgård
Norwegian · b. 1968
Norwegian novelist best known for My Struggle (Min Kamp), a six-volume autofictional novel published between 2009 and 2011 that became a global literary phenomenon. Earlier works include Out of the World (1998) and A Time for Everything (2004). The relentless self-exposure of My Struggle triggered lawsuits and family estrangements in Norway, where it sold roughly half a million copies — about one per ten Norwegians — and made him an unlikely international avatar of the autofiction genre.
