Beauty and aesthetics
The philosophical question of what beauty is, whether it is objective or subjective, and whether physical attractiveness tracks anything beyond surface appearance — moral character, intelligence, health. A long tradition from Plato through Kant treats beauty as more than skin-deep, with versions of the idea that the beautiful, the true, and the good are linked. Modern variants include the folk intuition that "you get the face you deserve" and the empirical observation that positive traits (intelligence, health, beauty, height) are weakly but reliably correlated through shared genetic load.
