Nassim Nicholas Taleb
Lebanese-American · b. 1960
Nassim Nicholas Taleb is a Lebanese-American essayist, statistician, and former options trader best known for his Incerto series — Fooled by Randomness, The Black Swan, Antifragile, Skin in the Game, and The Bed of Procrustes. His central project is the study of how individuals and systems should behave in the face of uncertainty, randomness, and rare high-impact events. A vocal critic of naive empiricism, academic risk modelling, and intellectuals-without-skin-in-the-game, he draws heavily on Karl Popper for his epistemology.
